And Just Like That, It's March

Time flies when you're having fun making a gazillion cookies.   We're still baking non-stop over here.  A girl couldn't ask for a more fantastic group of customers.  Just a heads up, we are booking into the Summer months now!  It's hard to believe since it is still snowy and disgustingly cold here.
Even so, March is my very favorite month.  Maybe because I'm a March baby.  The weather usually isn't fantastic, but you know Spring is getting closer.  And I LOOOOVE Daffodils!

Since we reached a new goal over at my facebook page, I'll be running a little giveaway next week!  Be sure to head over and follow my page so you can enter.

In the meantime, here's a look at what I've been working on.   Wishing you all an early Spring!

Sleepy Safari Baby Shower Cookies

These sleepy safari animal baby cookies were designed using the baby shower invitation provided as inspiration.  I was asked to add lions to the mix.  The baby animals are hand painted using Americolor gel food coloring.

2017 Leftovers

Week 4 of January already????  Here's the stuff I didn't get a chance to post in 2017.   Enjoy all the cookies and cakes -you can eat with your eyes if you are dieting in 2018 ;)

Top photo: More Avengers!  Hand painted and piped cookies along with a few Mjölnirs made with fondant.
Love me some pale pink and white!  This sweet little elephant is made out of fondant.  The cake is iced and filled with whipped ganache and covered in fondant ruffles.  The coordinating cupcakes are topped with vanilla buttercream.
There was a Paw Patrol chocolate cake with peanut butter buttercream that was yummmmy!  Covered in fondant with fondant accents.  When I need the fondant to harden faster, I add a little Tylose powder to the mix.

And then there were more babies!!!!  I'll tell you a little secret about this holiday baby gender reveal party....it's a girl!!!  I couldn't be more excited for the expecting parents.  Congrats!
...and more babies.  But this time instead of reindeer we have foxes.   Teal and orange may not photograph well, but they look amazing in person.

Seriously I just never know what you guys are going to ask me to make.  I was not expecting The Fast & The Furious or Nerf.  did. not. see. it. coming.

Now, I have talked about this before.  My sweet children do not get the cake attention they deserve from Mom.  They are insanely jealous of the treats I make for other kids, but when it's time for their birthday, I'm swamped with other orders.  We only ever have a handful of people over so it just doesn't make sense to make a giant cake!  But because I love my babies (even though they drive me insane most of the time) I put this Beetlejuice sand worm cake together in less than 3 hours - that includes bake time!  Is it my best work?  No.  Is it served on a pan covered in parchment paper?  Yes.  Does my son care?  Heck no!  He was just happy to get a sand worm cake!

I'm just a regular mom and our birthday parties don't look like Pinterest parties.  #reallife

....and these are the only photos I took on his birthday...lol  Happy Birthday to my sweet David.

Summer Catch Up Post 2

It just goes on and on and on.  I keep finding more photos to share with you all.  Here are a few more goodies from this Summer.

My beautiful cousin got married and it was just lovely.  White, teal and coral.  Her cake was inspired by the cake pictured here.  I was having difficultly finding the name of the bakery, so if you know who made it, please leave a comment and I will update my post.
And I did another coral and teal cake, but not for a wedding.  A sweet little sleepy mer-baby cake!  The bottom of the tier was inspired by Sugar Geek Show's tutorial here.  With an edible name topper made from fondant.
Next up, a simple drip cake.  No really, it was pretty simple.  I did NOT make these flowers.  Sometimes you gotta rush out a cake and you gotta do what ya' gotta do!
And now because we are sick of teal.....Navy!  Navy Pink and Gold!  I really like the Navy and Pinks together.

Last but not least, a Disney Junior assortment with characters from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Doc McStuffins and Winnie the Pooh (my fave).

Summer Catch Up Post 1

I have really been enjoying Summer with my family (in between cookies and cakes of course!)  So much so that I haven't been neglecting my page - yikes!  I'll be working on new tutorials for the Fall season, but until then - here's a look at what yummy treats have been keeping me busy:

Top photo:  Lobsters, Lemon and Corn on the Cob  Apparently, they have a Lobster picnic every year - how cool is that?  I wasn't invited, so I'm a bit sad, but I really feel like that's a tradition I can get behind.  Love the lobsta!!!!!

 Poker Chips and Aces cookies.
My most challenging set of the Summer- incorporating Military, Patriotic, and Lineman themes.  ....and then make 200 of them :)
Good ol' Hot Wheels and Barbie.  Feeling very nostalgic.
I've made a similar set of these Baptism cookies before, but this time it was for twinsies!
Daniel Tiger and all his friends!
Elmo and Dorothy (I wasn't really sure who Dorothy was), for the sweetest most adorable Nora ever!
Some variety shots of cookies I've been taking to craft fairs.   All my friends are here: Darth Vader, Spiderman, Superman, Spongebob, Batman, Groot, Stay Puft, Minions, Unicorns, Rainbows, Trolls, Mermaids....it goes on and on.   Baby Groot is my fave.
Peppa Pig and George and Georges Dinosaur of course!  Oh and muddy puddles!!!!
