Out and About with the Kids

The weather is perfect today so I headed out with the to the East Aurora Street Festival & Sidewalk Sale this morning.  The kids loved it!  They got FREEBIES galore!  The lovely people at the booths gave them balloons, beach balls, balloon animals, water bottles, pens, reusable bags and backpacks.  They also got some free face painting and made pasta necklaces!  I only spent $2 on some kettle corn.

The vendors had some nice items out too.  Head over Heels had shoes for $10 a pair and if you take your picture at their booth and upload it to their facebook page, you'll get $5 off your next purchase!

Later today, we'll be going to the St. Martha Lawn Fete in Depew.  They have $0.50 games with guaranteed prizes - perfect for little ones!

After that it's time to finish the preparations for my cousin's bridal shower tomorrow!

FREE Outdoor Family Movie Night at Broadway Driving Range!

Broadway Driving Range and Miniature Golf is offering FREE Outdoor Family Movie Night every Tuesday starting July 16th (Movies start at Dusk).

This Summer they'll also have Glow in the Dark Night on Thursdays (starts 6/20) with FREE Glow Spoons or Bracelets at Green Acres Ice Cream and discount Friday Night Family Nights (starts 6/21).

Strawberry Picking Time!

I'm so excited to take my little lady out berry picking.  We will probably go pick some tomorrow.  This Sunday, the 17th is the Strawberry Extravaganza at Becker Farms.  From 11-4 they will have BBQ, pony rides, hayrides, petting zoo and live music.  For the adults there is a winery!

There are lots of places to go out and pick some berries.  I've listed a few here.  While most are open for Strawberry picking mid June, it's a good idea to call ahead and make sure they are open for pick your own.  Blueberry availability usually begins in July.

Sunny Day = Letterboxing = Free!

With all of the nice weather coming up, I think I will take the children Letterboxing.  This will be oodles of fun for my daughter and my little guy won't mind running around the local parks! 

Mom can only spend so much time at the local playgrounds just sitting around, but Letterboxing gives us a chance to get up and move and also use our brains!  The best part is your kiddos (or you) get to stamp your book when you find one!  Did I mention it's FREE!!! 

How Letterboxing works:

Letterboxing is a "treasure hunt" activity where small boxes are hidden in public places that contain a stamp.  When you find one you get to stamp your own book (which you can make with the kiddos ahead of time) and also stamp your personal stamp on the journal in the Letterbox.
