Finding Nemo Cake and Cookies

Despite the fact that there is no little mermaid on this cake, I just couldn't keep from singing "Under the Sea" while making all the different sea life.  My Finding Nemo 2 Tier cake is covered in marshmallow fondant.  The main critters (Nemo, Dory and Squirt) are made from a fondant/gumpaste mix.  The rest of the decorations are a mix of marshmallow fondant and gumpaste.  The sand is buttercream frosting sprinkled with a bit of brown sugar.

Of course, there must be cookies too!  The characters on the cookies are royal icing transfers to give them a multi dimensional look and the bubbles were made by dipping a piping tip into white food coloring and "stamping" the cookie.   Hope you like 'em!

Autumn Colors (In Cookie Form Of Course)

The colors are finally changing in my area.  I took a trip to Chaffee last week and it was just beautiful!  Even the drive down the 400 was enjoyable.  Fall really is magical.  I love the smells and colors!

Here's a group of Autumn cookies I did recently.  For the leaves: Some have marbled royal icing with painted veins and the rest have gold lustre dust painted onto brown royal icing for a subtle gold effect.  Don't you just love Fall!

Halloween Chalkboard Cookies and my Party Playlist

Do you love Halloween as much as me?!!  I couldn't help myself - I just had to make cookie-tations for our Halloween party this year.  Soooo much better than a boring old paper invitation!  Hopefully our invitees write down the date before they gobble them up - hehe

The chalkboard cookies were made by painting on white food coloring after the black flood icing had dried.
