DIY Magnetic Spiders for $1.00 or less!

Well, Autumn is here and before you know it, Halloween will be too!  I haven't been very impressed with the coupon deals lately, so how about we do some inexpensive Halloween crafts instead?

First up, CREEPY MAGNETIC SPIDERS.  You can do this project for $1.00 or less!

You'll need:
  • Package of Spider Rings (I used half of a double pack black/orange at the Dollar Tree - that's just $0.50!, but you can find these just about everywhere this time of year for $1.00 or under.)
  • Promotional Magnets (If you don't have any, consider asking vendors, stores, the Dr's office - they may have some to give you for FREE!  You'll really only need 1 or 2 to do a small bag of spiders.)*I have TONS of these magnets.  You get them at street sales, stores, on the phone book, etc.  If you can't get your hands on any, you can always purchase magnet sheets or strips at your local hobby store.  They also sell magnets at the Dollar Tree that you could cut up.
  • Glue (whatever glue you have on hand that adheres well to plastic.)
  • Scissors

Step 1:  Cut the "ring" off the back of the spider.  I only used the black spiders for this project...saving those orange guys for something else.

Step 2:  Cut the promotional magnets into small pieces that fit the back of the spider.

Step 3:  Glue the magnets to the back of the spiders magnetic side up.  If you decide to use a glue gun, be careful, the pieces are very small and you won't need much glue.  The spiders are very light and don't require a large piece of magnet to hold them on, but if you add too much weight (too much glue) the magnet might not hold.

Step 4:  BE CREATIVE!  I of course put a bunch on the door, but think of all the wonderful ways you could spook your unsuspecting party guests or even your family...bwahhahahaha

*The spiders were placed on my inner door which has a glass door protecting it from the outside elements.  If you put them on the outside, they will blow away on a windy day.
