Lightly Decorated Floral Cookies

Purple has been very popular this year.  For these purple floral lovelies I was asked to go easy on the icing.  So how do you decorate cookies without icing?  Well, I decided to paint the food coloring directly on the cookies.  For the crackle effect, I used corn starch mixed with food coloring.  Royal icing was only used for piping details (font and floral).    This is one of my favorites and with so little icing!!!!!

All The Pretty Things

Pink, Purple, Gold, Floral, Ribbon, and Lace....  Loving making these beautiful treats!

Let's start with this lovely blush, gold and floral cake.  Definitely in my top 10 faves.  Just so feminine and beautiful.  Inside: White cake with white chocolate whipped ganache.

Next a simple, wintery wedding cake.  With hand piped lace (using royal icing) on the top tier, finished off with navy ribbon and a crystal broach.   The perfect little wedding cake.

Last but definitely NOT least: Purple, purple and....more PURPLE!  Oh and I threw in a little gold and pink too.  How to make the monogram cookies:  pipe one million little royal icing flowers and let dry.  I don't know which ones are my favorite - the floral monogram, the watercolor monogram.  So pretty!!!!
