KEEP CALM and BAKE ON

Things don't always go as planned.

While I'm sure the recipients were perfectly happy with these cookies and cakes, I was NOT.  I don't like it when things don't turn out the way I want them to (in baking and in life.)  It's just who I am.  Sometimes, I actually lose sleep over it.

First up: Mini Cakes.  There were some serious melting issues and strawberry ooze, but they tasted just fine.  Next up: Old House, New House cookies: A seriously awesome idea.  However, my colors were off and in the end, they didn't quite look like the houses in the photos.

So..what was my point?  Oh yeah, for those of you baking and decorating, don't be so hard on yourself.  These are after all just cookies and cakes.   Enjoy yourself and have fun!  The cookies and cakes you make won't be around for 50 years.

As far as I know, all of these treats were gobbled up.
